MZAZA Community Musical Workshops

The headline act at this year’s Taste of the World Cultural Festival is Australia’s acclaimed world music sensation MZAZA, who will perform their critically acclaimed production The Birth and Death of Stars at the festival. It’s an exhilarating and otherworldly musical odyssey; an unparalleled fusion of music, history, and culture. Brace yourself for an exquisite fusion of vocal harmonies, accordion, violin, shah kaman, percussion, double bass, and guitar.

Mzaza invites community musicians to be part of their Rockhampton performance with two public workshops: singing and instrumental. 

Singers and instrumentalists of all ages are invited to learn a Sephardi wedding song based on a popular Turkish melody in two fun, concurrent workshops that are open to everyone; from beginners to advanced musicians.

Singing workshop. Participants aged 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Instrumental workshop. Participants must bring your own instrument.

Both workshops also include an invitation to perform with Mzaza at Taste of the World Cultural Festival during their set.

The Taste of the World Cultural Festival will be held at Riverside Park, Rockhampton, on Saturday 24 August from 1pm to 8pm. Mzaza will perform their set at approximately 6.45pm.

Ticket transaction fees may apply to purchases. Fees are based on your method of payment, delivery and the specific event you are attending.

EITHER a fee of $5.40 per transaction will apply for a booking made with the box office by telephone

OR a fee of $1.70 per ticket will apply for tickets purchased online.

Delivery charges if applicable are detailed at Check-Out.

Cash sales in person at the Box Office will not incur transaction fees.
